We Can Tackle Stress At The Source

What is stress, actually?

I don’t generally get stressed. I am lucky to be a naturally calm person. When the overwhelm does get me, though, it can be brutal. Additionally, I have experienced long term stress, in which the condition is always there, ongoing, to the point where we can’t see it anymore. It took me months after quitting the responsible job to recover.

Everyone Is Susceptible

We are all more or less susceptible to stress. Conversely, there are ways in which any of us can become better at dealing with it, too. I don’t think the stressing subject or stressed object are where stress originates. Sometimes, I still surprise myself by being exceedingly calm in particularly pressing situations. One could say I choose not to be stressed. I’m going to try and explain how I do this.

Our Best

The main idea is always to do our best. If we do our best, we can relax, knowing we have done everything we could have done. If it’s not enough to complete a project, get a job or pass an exam, then so be it. We did our best, there was nothing else we could have thrown at it, and there can be no regrets. Naturally, the problem is defining and accepting what our best is.

What It Isn’t
