In Homage To Catalonia, George Orwell speaks of his experience in a trench run by anarchists. At first, he, as an English Trotskyist, was certain they were all going to die: it was chaos. Everyone could question every decision. However, in a few weeks, he writes he had never seen a better organised group of people. A bit of an extreme example, but I think it is somehow linked to what we're talking about here. It's different skills. Some of the most brilliant people aren't great leaders and some of the best leaders aren't particularly brilliant at anything else. No shame either way.
