Web developers throw errors all the time. This is one of the things that puzzled me the most when I first got into programming a few months ago.

Thou Shalt Not Err

Like you, I grew up learning how to avoid making mistakes. Many years later, I discovered that mistakes are the source of almost all the learning we will ever do. It’s still not very pleasant to err, though, and most of us choose to continue avoiding them.

Indeed, some are so obsessed with not making mistakes that they live in fear of them. They live in a dangerous paranoia of error making that drives them to point out all the mistakes that everyone else makes. ‘Haha, you missed that one!’ ‘What a fool!’ ‘How can anyone not know not to do that?’ It is easy to see that those who are busy pointing fingers are simply insecure enough to devote their lives to hiding their own shortcomings.
