Ideas are worth nothing unless we work hard on spreading them.
Very early on I learned one little truth that would shape my life forever: having a great idea is as useful when it comes to implementing it as feeling hungry is to actually getting fed.
I was lucky enough to be born with a genetic predisposition to having many ideas, every day, all the time, a wild imagination that could run several trains of thought in parallel, a mind that could never be bored and that was always creating the next thing.
However, I was aware that this wasn’t unique to me. I was even luckier to have of others around me who had great ideas and marvellous talents. What I couldn’t understand was why they didn’t do more with their innate gifts. And I was determined to be different, to make the ultimate effort, to devote myself to my art.
As I went on to do just that I learnt why so many creatives didn’t act on their creativity. Creatives feel the joy of creation, the thrill of birthing a new world where previously there was only pen and paper, the ecstasy of connecting with our core as we connect with other people’s cores… and that is fun.
