Hyper Minds In Need Of Balance

One of the main differences between a highly perceptive being and one that only notices what is right in front of them is being aware of facts as much as non-facts. For instance, we are more likely to notice it is windy outside than to be aware that it isn’t. A knock on the door is much more apparent than nobody having knocked on it for days. What doesn’t happen is much harder to appreciate and thus also where the most opportunity lies. An efficient businessperson knows of growing interest in dating apps and proceeds to invest in one. The entrepreneur realised there were none.

Most people — like most animals — will react to the stimuli of the path ahead. We make a decision and deal with its consequences (or hide from them, but that is a different matter for another day). We don’t care about the ramifications of the alternative decisions we didn’t make. Any semi-intelligent human being will go one step further and consider the potential result of several courses of action before taking one. Fully-intelligent people will often get lost in the tempestuous sea of what could have been and wasn’t but could still be.

Indeed, the hyper-perceptive mind is as aware of what goes on as what doesn’t. This characteristic allows the gifted…
