How Much Injustice Is Enough For Us To Do Something About It?

Injustice can trigger exceptional stances. The apolitical may commit their efforts to a campaign if their sense of injustice is piqued. The pacifist may resort to violence if the injustice carries enough weight. The neutral may take a side if their position appears complicit in a flagrant injustice.

To Expose Or To Fight?

Naturally, anyone who opposes unfairness will soon find that exposing it can often be more practical than fighting it directly. Investigative journalism — almost a lost art in this day and age where pseudo-journalism seems to reign supreme — has played a critical part in spurring massive actions that have effected change. We could be naive enough to think that a society in which each individual carries a camera should be less prone to corruption and wrongdoing. Since we aren’t naive enough, we see the noise as more conducive to preening and pouting than questioning and challenging. If anything, those who dare to defy the noise often seem keener on judging and cancelling than inquiring and informing.
