Limitless access to information has armed all of us with the potential to be critical. For some generations, who knew life before the Internet, it has meant a paradigm shift of unprecedented proportions. Sadly, some seem to have taken this the wrong way and are now prone to see ghosts where there are only wall stains.
Lack Of Information
Before access to information was open and free, many believed lack of information was one of the main reasons the status quo maintained its grip on the majority. I don’t think they were wrong: we know of many governments, organisations and corporations that kept their nefarious acts secret to avoid the repercussions. They must be hiding something, one could think and be fairly certain one was right.
Hiding In The Crowd
Naturally, those involved in criminal or otherwise destructive activities soon found that keeping information hidden among other information is only more effective than literally keeping it hidden. A needle is safer in a haystack than it could ever be behind the most secure lock. Yet, regardless of how evident it is we live in a reality…
