Exponential Growth Can Be Almost Impossible To See
And yet it is there for those who care to look. This is my story on Medium — so far. An experiment in honesty?
Humble Beginnings
I started writing my daily thoughts over two years ago. This one is number 785. I wasn’t publishing them on Medium then. I wrote them in my own personal blog (I still do) and sent them to my closest music fans and friends (I still do).
In fact, the idea came from there: I told a close friend that since I talked to myself every morning while making breakfast, I planned on writing down these thoughts. He said he would like to read them. About four months ago, I started publishing them on Medium as well.
Zero Expectations
I had zero expectations. I don’t write easy how-to instructions. I don’t explain what cryptocurrencies to invest in or show the best methods to record music at home. I don’t know what you should do to gain a thousand followers in a week with these three simple tricks.
It isn’t that I don’t find that type of article useful. It’s just that these are my thoughts, thoughts that I hope to help others have more and better thoughts, just like their thoughts help mine.
