Breaking Out Of The Self-Esteem/Poor-Performance Vicious Circle

Do we love ourselves enough?

an endless dark loop sucks a man to the bottom of the abyss, surreal futurism — by DALL·E

Growth and improvement can only be ours when we look after ourselves. We must allow ourselves the time to learn, absorb new concepts, and put them into practice.

When we just push forward, we make mistakes, we make ourselves vulnerable. We get things done, granted, but we don’t make things better.

If we find ourselves having to push through, even if we tell ourselves that it is only this time, we had better stop to do some reflection. It can never be a long-term plan. If we constantly feel like we are exerting ourselves to meet the requirements, the requirements are wrong, conducive to a race to the bottom in performance, a decline in development, and the eventual decay of our output.

We need to love ourselves enough to believe we deserve to rest. Poor performance feeds low self-esteem, which feeds poor performance. The only way out of a negative loop is to break it. The only way to muster the strength necessary to do so is to begin by respecting and loving ourselves.
